Christ Jesus established His church nearly two thousand years ago. Its foundation is built upon the fact that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, proved by His resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4; Matthew 16:18). We who attend the congregation in Brighton, Illinois are part of that body (Ephesians 5:23), being adopted into this family through faithful obedience to Christ’s Gospel preached by Jesus and His apostles in the first century, as recorded in the Bible (Hebrews 1:1-2; 2:1-4; 5:8-9; 11:1, 6; Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 13:9-12; Ephesians 2:8-10). We strive to be the church Christ founded in the first century, living in the twenty-first century world (Romans 16:16).
While God created all things in six, literal twenty-four hour days, and made all nations from just one pair of humans (Genesis 1-2; Psalm 19:1-6; Acts 17:26, 28), only those who have obeyed Christ’s call through the Gospel can truly be said to be children of God (Ephesians 1:5; Galatians 3:26-27). Therefore we believe, practice, and teach that to enter into this family, each person who can know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil (Romans 7:9) must:
If the thought of worshiping with those who seek to serve Jehovah in sincerity and truth appeals to you, please come and see (John 1:46)!

- Believe the Gospel – John 8:24; Mark 16:15-16; Romans 10:9
- Repent of their sins – Luke 13:3, 5; Acts 22:16
- Confess Christ as Lord – Matthew 10:32-33; John 14:6; Romans 10:10
- Be immersed in water in order to obtain the remission of sins – Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Peter 3:20-21
- Remain faithful until death – Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 4:7-8; Revelation 2:10
